Keep Dreaming

"We do not stop playing because we are old ; we grow old because we stop playing..."

How many people make an effort to laugh and find humour in their everyday lives? Everyone`s been stressing so much about exams - yes I have too, I admit - but you have to take time to relax each day and enjoy what each moment brings. To take you through this tough time, you have to visualise your dream - when you lose your dreams, you die . Remember what you are striving for - what you want to be and what you want to do for people when this is finally over.

We have so many people walking around us, who are already dead but do not realise it . Never lose your hope or dreams . There is a big difference in growing older and growing up. You could be six years old, lie in bed for one full year and never do a thing, and you will turn seven . If I was 99 years old, and stayed in bed rotting I would turn a hundred. Growing old does not require any talent or ability . Everybody has to grow older. However, the idea is to grow up, and always notice little opportunities that come by your way . Live your life, don't just exist. Take risks, take chances. Enjoy each moment, have no regrets.

"People usually do not have regrets for what they did, but rather for things they did not do . The only people who fear death are those who did not live, and they are the ones who lived a life full of regrets..."

Physician, Heal Thyself

Source: Lifehack - "10 ways to save yourself from messing up your life"
10 ways to save yourself from messing up your life

2. Stop being concerned about what the rest of the world says about you

* Events or people are simply events or people
* You have to be happy with yourself - people say / do silly things but these things are powerless until you choose to react against it

Indeed I have to stop letting what other people think of me affect the way I act. That's always been a particular weakness of mine I suppose, that I get too affected by what other people say/do/think. I was talking to someone today, and she was telling me about her life, and I realize just how blessed I am to have loved ones who do give a shit about whether or not I live.

I can`t please everyone (not from a lack of trying) but what I can do is just be me & learn to love myself before I can even love others in return.

=====

[insert]

"We`re our own worst enemies" has been one of my best friends` msn message for today. & I have to admit how true that is. We either set too high a goal for ourselves and consequently get disappointed when we fail to hit such ideals, or we underestimate ourselves, and find ourselves confined to a small little space in life, after which we start dreaming of touching the moon.

Is anyone surprised, really, that people go through life never knowing what they are working towards in that case? In my utopia, people would live in love & peace and never want for anything (I know how unrealistic that sounds).

====

Another disjointed sentence that I absolutely had to add

Today's Question 60 of the Exam was

When treating a patient, the paediatric Dentistry Supervisor says to a child "If you refuse to sit still I will go out with your mum for lunch now!" What prompted his question?
a. He was hungry
b. He was angry at the child and wanted lunch
c. He wanted to have a date with the patient's mum
d. He was frustrated with the undergraduate student treating the patient
e. He was trying to manage the patient's behavior

I just looked at this question and snorted (Yes, snorted). :P Which wasn't so cool, but MEH.

Live. Laugh. Love

That`s how I want to live my life.

But it seems lately that everything`s been weighing me down. There`s this constant goal that is just out of reach it seems, and I`m just short of touching it. For some reason, I feel so fucking inadequate. Don`t get me wrong, I`m still laughing and I still love everybody around me. It`s just that it seems to take its` toll on me even more in the past few weeks.

Maybe I get a little grumpy in the mornings before my morning coffee, But I usually perk right back up after that ! It seems like for the past 2 weeks I`ve been stagnating, doing the same thing over and over again. I`m just so burnt out I can`t find what`s needed in me to motivate myself. At this point, I guess all I can do is just keep trying harder and hope that will be enough.

Till then, au revoir!

x Be my phlare of light, my inspiration ! x

I won't be made useless
I won't be idle with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear
My hands are small, I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken

So Let's Talk About....

.... Dumbledore being gay.

Hmmm what exactly was the point of JK Rowling telling us Dumbledore is gay ? I mean, he got killed off in book God-knows-when, there were at least like 1000 pages before he got killed off to tell us he was gay but NO.

Instead, she tells it in a press conference, AFTER he's dead and buried and no one cares anymore.

Talk about anticlimatic huh, it's like finding out that you have to go for another blood test because they forgot to take your blood out in the previous blood test.

And totally unnecessary.

Or it's like Ella trying to get orangecakez to answer a question, which he has successfully evaded for like 2 hours now. And he'll probably answer in a week, by which time no one cares anymore (if anyone even cares now, but what the hell).

An Update Long Overdue

So yes this update is long overdue. PS. Howard says hi to everyone -_-. But anyway. I'm in a Removable Prosth. lecture now (oops) :(

ANYWAY. What motivated me to update after so long was a really classic lecture I had yesterday (how sad I know). Oh, and the fact that typing this out is keeping my mind off the fact that I need to go to the toilet, NOW. >_<

ANYWAY - For this to be really funny you have to have some background on my lecturer.

He's probably 30 - 40 years old (late 30 ish) except he's like a big 15 year old kid. Asian, with a really fob asian accent and glasses. Kind of reminds me of

Scenario 1
Lecturer Dr. X is talking about his previous experiences as a paediatric dentist (child/teenage dentistry). Dr. X was telling us how to relate to teenagers and he brought up a situation whereby once in his life he gained the confidance ?? of one of his teenaged patient that told him 'secrets' (exact words) and he mentioned how this might lead to legal problems. He also mentioned that in such incidences to just talk to them as adults and treat them like you would your friends. I quote.

Dr. X: Once, I had a patient that told me that he had sex. In such cases, you should share your experiences with the patient (insert very asian accent here).

Everyone just cracks up laughing.

Scenario 2
Dr. X: Gooordoon..if you do not open your mouth..i will go out with your MMARRDA..

Scenario 3
Dr. X: Please be specific when you tell your patients to open their mouths... Last time I told someone to open, they opened up their legs instead

This was just too disturbing for words =X

when you feel a certain way for anyone
express it
embrace it
never be afraid to live life
for you have only one chance at life
one chance of finding an everlasting friend
one chance of finding someone to grow old with you
one chance of being yourself
so as the cliche goes,

sing like nobody's listening
dance like no one's watching
love like your heart's never been broken before

Little someone dissapears.

It`s been 1 month + since the last update of my blog.

Wow.

Well it has been a pretty uneventful month i`d have to say.

Trying to rush deadlines, getting patient`s work back on time. 7 weeks left till exams, so I need like half a week on each subject. I`m dead.

Yesterday I had a major emo attack. No idea what triggered it. I guess being in the apartment by yourself when it`s cold and rainy makes you emo after 24/7 quality time spent with family in Singapore. Mmm.

So... what do I have to say... I`d like to dedicate this post to my extended family :P and everyone that keeps me company in perth (excluding my textbooks)

I will probably be camping out in the library for the next few weeks till exams. So if I dissapear, you'll know what has happened to me. <3 style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">

Got this off Jia Le's blog - and it's so true.

1) If you need someone to complete you, don't get into a relationship, not intimately at least. A true partnership is fundamentally different from a needy, clingy, hand holding affair. I'm not bashing relationships here, but when you look at the people who claim they are looking for someone to complete them, it does get you wondering about how they are actually feeling about themselves if they need to have intimacy with another person for security. True security (in my view) is knowing yourself to an intimate degree and being secure in the fact that you will kick ass if you decide to put your mind to it.

2) Don't ask a woman what they're looking for in a man if you want an honest answer, because... There isn't one. Their preferences change as frequently as the colour of my underpants whenever I decide to bleach them on a whim everyday.

3) Why is every Tom, Mary and Jane enrolling in Mass Communication courses nowadays? It's not that glam ya know, if you're in it for the image and prestige. But the education you get in the field and human nature is priceless.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Copies of the yet unreleased Harry Potter book have been circulating the web, with someone bothering to take pictures of each individual page of the book.

About Selling Out

I've had a pretty mixed reaction to my posting advertorials but there seems to be a common theme to the message you`re ruining your blog/ you`re selling out/ it looks like spam! I get the message. *sweatdrop

And I suppose in a way i AM selling out - because yes i AM doing it for the money (you`d be dumb to think otherwise :P). But then again, unless you are willing to pay for my living expenses (let me assure you, you definitely are not) then well... speak now or forever hold your peace. peace? piece? peace.

People get jobs all the time and lose their souls slaving away 9 - 5 sitting at a tiny desk, slaving away for some corporation. All they have during that 9 - 5 time block is the office and the world in it. What`s different about what I do and them?

At least I am assured that I enjoy what I do, because I chose to do it. Not because I was deperately in need for the money (again, I assure you I am in not that great a need for the money), but it IS nice being independent and earning my own money (as opposed to bludging off my parents) and i found something i enjoy doing, and someone to pay me for doing it.

Heck, so maybe it`s not writing an article for the western australian or the straits times. But it`s still writing, except I actually do earn something for it!

No it is not a job. It`s sideline work, my studies still take the priority here. Up to date I'm only due to be paid $36 USD as opposed to top earners that get paid $100USD a week. Pretty nice for sideline work huh?

If you would like to say something after hearing my viewpoint..... the link to post comments is down there!

My roomie..

... is becoming increasingly obssessed with Evermore, up to the point she is going for their concert on the last day of study break.

But anyway that wasn`t the point of this post... ummm actually there was no point of this post, just to say exams are looking very near (less than 30 days people!) & that I have cool new Levi's Jeans that are ripped (yay chelle I finally figure out that you CAN get faded jeans - you don't need to soak them in detergent or whatnot)

But yes. Absolute last thing I can spend on. Clothes wise, for this year anyway.

I am taking down the books I am reading and books to add to library - it changes too often. :)

Some Post New Years' Resolutions

Revised resolutions :

  • Quit with that procrastinating
  • Be super ultra organized
  • Lose that stubborn 4 kilos
  • QUIT WITH THE CLOTHES SHOPPING TILL JANUARY NEXT YEAR
  • Go out less. Much much less.
Hmmm... I`m not sure whether I`d be able to stick to these resolutions - but only time will tell I guess.

Although... Isn`t this a form of procrastination as well?
