The AGONY! - Day 2 in Singapore

Total bone weary exhaustion.

Woke up this morning and was drafted as a mover i.e. had to traipse around the clinic packing stuff into boxes and yes. That took up the whole morning and early arvo. By the time I was done it was 3pm (so much for meeting Bryan - sorry I cancelled!). After which, I went for an Extraction Facial.

Let me inform you about my extraction facial. This is not the first facial I've been to - the very first one left me splotchy, with a face full of stinging pain and a swollen cheek quite like if I had a wisdom tooth taken out. The second time I had microdermabrasion which was funfunfun! Today. I had a fully manual extraction facial in which these people took great joy in torturing me (I swear if the Singaporeans had gotten facial...ists(?) to fight WW2 the japanese would never have won). But I diverge from the topic.

The first sentence I was asked when I lay down all vulnerable in a hospital gown like top (they get you to remove your clothing and put on this flimsy top that falls off if you pull too hard) was, "Are you scared of pain anot?" (Talk about public relations).

The first few minutes after that was deceptively innocent and nice. I had a warm water rinse, cleanser solution rubbed on my face, etc etc. Then came THE CREAM.

THE CREAM

The cream was slathered over my face. "Careful ah, will sting abit ok!?" So I lay there with a cream that is getting cooler and yes, IS stinging in that ice cold way. And then, the beautician facialist puts this machine over me that blows COLD STEAM out! AHHHHH! instant 'Dry Ice being rubbed over face' feeling! OUCH! OUUUCCHHHHH ! FAR OUT i can imagine how people with hypersensitivity feel when I rub dry ice/ CO2 over their tooth!

In addition to that, the cold steam/vapour kept condensating below my nose because well.... the air that comes out of your nose is hot right? and the water droplets were gathering over my lip and flowing back into my nose. eeps!

Next stage - expedition remove the blackheads! (no racial connotations)
So after that, she puts some alcoholic thing on my face that opens up my pores. And she puts cotton buds over my eyes to hide what she is doing next. Me being the perpetual busybody that I am peeks under the cotton bud anyway. She picks up what looks like a universal curette but at each end it has a grippy thing - consequently it looks like a 2 sided tweezer, but each side has one 'tweezer' end and one 'curette/spiky scrapey' end.

The tweezer end GRIPS your skin, and the curette end
literally DIGS into your pore and scrapes out the stuff. OUCH. and she was METICULOUS. NO INCH of my face was spared.

At least after that things got better (As if they could get worse). I got a shoulder massage, a facial mask, and toner spray and moisturized up. *sigh.

At least this time when I walked out I did not resemble a watermelon.

Greenish tinge from trying not to throw up after the first facial I had. Red splotches from attempted excavation at my skin.
